Bridge Deck Joint Inspection along Route 8 and I-95

      The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that inspections will be performed on the bridge joints on I-95 northbound in Guilford, I-95 southbound in Stamford and Greenwich and on Route 8 southbound in Shelton and Trumbull. These inspections will require daytime lane closures on Tuesday, July 29, and Wednesday July 30, 2014.

      Inspection work associated with the asphaltic plug joints in the towns of Guilford, Stamford, Greenwich, Shelton and Trumbull will require daytime lane closures on I-95 northbound in Guilford, on I-95 southbound in Stamford and Greenwich, and Route 8 southbound in Shelton and Trumbull. These inspection activities are scheduled to be performed on Tuesday and Wednesday July 29-30.

 

LANE CLOSURE INFO

      Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will be utilized to guide motorists through the work zone. The regular work schedule for this project is from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. (Monday thru Friday).

      Segments of the following routes will be impacted by this project: I-95 northbound between Exits 56 and 59 in the town of Guilford; I-95 southbound between Exits 6 and 2 in the towns of Stamford and Greenwich; Route 8 southbound between exits 13 and 11 in the town of Shelton and Route 8 southbound in the vicinity of Exit 7 in the town of Trumbull. Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions.  Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this vicinity.

      DOT Project No. 173-423 was awarded to New England Roads Industries, of Clinton, CT on January 13, 2013 with an official start date of April 1, 2013 and an anticipated completion date of August 31, 2014.
