• 3/13/2020 SERVICE CHANGES ANNOUNCED FOR SHORE LINE EAST AND HARTFORD LINE

  The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) announced rail service changes on Shore Line East and Hartford Line as part of the State of Connecticut’s coordinated effort to mitigate the impacts of COVID-19. The following rail schedule changes will go into effect Monday, March 16th and will continue until further notice.

• 2/10/2020 GOVERNOR LAMONT ANNOUNCES LAUNCH OF MOBILE TICKETING APP FOR HARTFORD LINE AND SHORE LINE EAST

  Governor Ned Lamont and Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) Commissioner Joseph Giulietti today announced that the state has launched a mobile app providing commuters of the CTrail Hartford Line and Shore Line East with the ability to purchase tickets for the respective rail lines using their smartphone devices. The app, CTrail eTix, is a more convenient way to pay rail fare without needing to carry and display a paper ticket.

• 1/28/2020 Second Survey on Next Generation of CT Rail Cars Completed

  The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) has completed two public surveys to gain public input for the procurement of the next generation of rail cars for the state’s passenger rail system. Together the surveys generated nearly 1,300 responses and provide CTDOT with a clear vision of amenities to prioritize as the procurement process moves forward.

  Governor Ned Lamont today joined executives from AT&T at a news conference in Norwalk to announce the launch of a new public-private partnership that will allow for the deployment of cutting-edge technology along the New Haven Line – the busiest commuter rail line in the United States – from New Haven to Connecticut’s western border that will vastly enhance and improve the traveling experience of commuters.
