Safety Improvement Project along Route 9 Southbound in Essex

The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that a safety improvement project will be performed on Route 9 southbound in Essex on Tuesday, January 22, 2019. The project consists of installing an impact attenuator on Route 9 Southbound at Exit 2 in Essex.

LANE CLOSURE INFO:

Motorists can expect a shoulder closure to occur at this location. PGP Group, dba Atlas Companies, traffic control personnel and signing patterns will be utilized to guide motorists through the work zone. The regular work schedule for this project is from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. (Tuesday)

Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this vicinity.
