School Security Consultant Registry

The Department of Emergency Services and Public Protection (DESPP) maintains this registry of consultants as a service to the school community.  DESPP has not reviewed or  approved the work of these consultants.  Inclusion on the registry does not constitute any endorsement of the consultants on the list by the State of Connecticut or DESPP. As with any contractor, before hiring a school security consultant, you should ask for credentials and other supporting documentation, including but not limited to:

  • Proof that the contractor is appropriately bonded and insured;
  • Lists and contact information for previous clients, particularly school systems;
  • Names, background, and contact information about the people who will be working on your project;
  • Proof of any licenses related education, or other credentials for all the persons expected to work on your project;
  • Examples of the assessments the contractor uses to evaluate school security;
  • A detailed description of the  product (deliverables) you can expect from their work;
  • Examples of products prepared for previous clients.
