The Department of Energy & Environmental Protection (“DEEP”) hereby gives notice that a tentative determination has been reached to approve the following application submitted under Section 22a-361 of the Connecticut General Statutes (“CGS”) for a permit to conduct work waterward of the coastal jurisdiction line in tidal, coastal or navigable waters of the state. 

 

The Commissioner also gives notice that a hearing may be held on this application if a written request is received from the applicant, or if the Commissioner determines that the public interest will best be served thereby.  The Commissioner shall hold a hearing pursuant to CGS Section 22a-361(b) on receipt of a petition signed by twenty-five or more persons.

PROPOSED ACTIVITY

The proposed activity includes the retention of an existing seawall, removal of a derelict pier and the construction of a fixed pier, ramp, floating dock and boat lifts for private recreational boating use and will affect coastal resources.

The application is available for inspection at the DEEP Land and Water Resources Division, 79 Elm Street, Hartford, from 8:30 - 4:30 Monday through Friday.  Additional surveys, plans or other materials may be available with the original application file at DEEP.  All interested parties are invited to express their views on the tentative determination concerning this application.  Written comments on the application should be directed to Micheal Grzywinski, DEEP Land & Water Resources Division, 79 Elm Street, Hartford, CT 06106-5127, no later than thirty (30) days from the publication date of this notice.  Comments regarding this application may be submitted via electronic mail to: micheal.grzywinski@ct.gov.
