What Is a Tiger Trout?
Tiger trout are a unique and exciting fish that is back on the menu in Connecticut for 2020, thanks in part to support from the Trout and Salmon Stamp. The Fisheries Division plans to stock 3,500 tiger trout this spring and nearly 3,000 more in the fall into many locations throughout Connecticut.
Tiger trout are a cross between a male brook trout and a female brown trout. Tiger trout grow faster and bite more aggressively than either parent species - making them the perfect target for anglers!
