CONSUMER PROTECTION COMMISSIONER ISSUES SUMMARY SUSPENSION FOR TERMINAL 110 IN NEW HAVEN
FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 24, 2021 – Today, Deputy Commissioner Maureen Magnan signed a summary suspension of the liquor permit for Terminal 110 (LIR.17689), located at 240 Sargent Drive in New Haven.
This suspension comes because of a referral from the New Haven Police Department received on Friday, September 24, 2021, by the Department of Consumer Protection’s Liquor Control Division regarding events that occurred during the early morning hours of September 23, 2021.
On September 23, 2021, Terminal 110 was the scene of a large fight and shooting, in which at least one individual was shot, and three rounds were fired. This incident closely follows another shooting incident that occurred on September 5, 2021, after which 27 assorted spent bullet casings, one live bullet, and two bullet fragments were found around the club parking lot.
“I am appreciative that the New Haven Police Department brought this matter to my attention and believe that this immediate suspension is justified and necessary to address this very serious situation,” said DCP Commissioner Michelle H. Seagull. “The occurrence of two shootings at this venue in a matter of weeks is a huge threat to public safety and highlights the need for better control of the premise by our permittees. People should feel safe entering any facility that holds one of our licenses.”
The premise license is immediately suspended and cannot serve alcohol until further notice.
A copy of the letter from New Haven Interim Chief of Police Renee Dominguez, the suspension placard, and summary suspension order are available.
