ONLINE CREDENTIAL RENEWALS SEE SIGNIFICANT GROWTH AT CONSUMER PROTECTION
Thursday, March 22nd, 2018 – Today, the Department of Consumer Protection (DCP) announced that online credential renewals increased significantly in 2017 . In 2017, 141,311 credentials were renewed online, up from 107,133 in 2016. In 2012, only 68,660 credentials were renewed online.
This move to online credentialing is part of DCP’s effort to create better efficiency and deliver services in a more timely manner.
“Our License Services Division has worked very hard to streamline our licensing and renewal processes in order to use our resources most efficiently and make credentialing easier for businesses,” said Consumer Protection Commissioner Michelle H. Seagull, “I’m incredibly proud of the work that our team at DCP does to improve the way we do business every day.”
DCP issues roughly 200,000 individual credential renewals each year. In response to credential holder’s need to have their credentials processed more quickly, DCP has made 295 credentials available to be renewed online.
Those with questions or concerns about the credentialing process at DCP may contact the License Services Division at dcp.licenseservices@ct.gov.
