The keynote speaker will be Doug Glanville, former professional baseball player and ESPN analyst, author, teacher, and community activist.
This fourth annual symposium will focus on the power of storytelling in education, bridging cultural differences, giving a voice to underserved and marginalized communities, and articulating a mission. Attendees will learn from subject matter experts in interactive workshops.
Attendees in past years have been from a wide variety of backgrounds including education, health care, state and local government, non-profit organizations, the financial sector, law enforcement, faith based organizations, and more.
“These symposia are an amazing opportunity for all of us to learn how to most effectively empower and advocate for those in need, and learn about the great work happening across our state,” said Consumer Protection Commissioner Michelle H. Seagull, “I’m proud of the work our staff does every day to ensure that everyone in Connecticut has the tools they need to be successful in today’s marketplace. I am excited that we will be focusing on storytelling this year, as so many of us know that it’s a key element to education and outreach.”
This symposium is free and open to the public. Attendees can learn more and register for the symposium by visiting DCP’s website here.
This all-day event will be held at the Connecticut Convention Center from 8:30am to 4:30pm.
