CONSUMER PROTECTION WARNS ABOUT COFFEE PRESS RECALL
Wednesday, May 17th, 2017 – The Department of Consumer Protection is warning consumers about a voluntary recall of Bialetti coffee presses issued yesterday by Bradshaw International, Inc. Consumers should immediately stop using the coffee presses due to a risk of the glass beakers breaking and cutting the fingers of users. Consumers may contact Bradshaw International for a free replacement coffee press.
The coffee presses have a glass beaker in a plastic frame with a stainless steel metal plunger and come in blue, green, black and red. The date stamp of March 2017 or earlier is printed on the underside of the plunger in a dial date code. Roughly 85,000 of these products have been sold in the United States.
“It’s important to us that consumers have the most up to date information about recalls to make sure their homes are as safe as possible,” said Consumer Protection Commissioner Michelle H. Seagull, “Recalls for products like this one that are used in our homes on a daily basis are even more important to pay attention to. We want to encourage consumers to report problems with these products to their manufacturers, and thank Bradshaw International for issuing this recall voluntarily, and quickly.”

More information regarding the recall can be found on the Consumer Product Safety Commission’s website.
