104 YEAR OLD JOSEPH “JJ” VINCI, SR. OF MIDDLETOWN HONORED BY DEPARTMENT OF CONSUMER PROTECTION
Friday, November 18, 2016 – Consumer Protection Commissioner Jonathan A. Harris presented a proclamation from Governor Malloy to 104 year old Joseph “JJ” Vinci Sr. of Middletown at his business, Vinci Oil Company recognizing him the “Dean of Occupational License Holders.”
Mr. Vinci has owned his business in Middletown, CT since 1934, and was recognized today for his commitment to continuing education, and years of compliance with the licensing and registration processes at the Department of Consumer Protection (DCP). Mr. Vinci has built strong relationships with the community in Middletown and Middlesex County by growing his family business, and participating in a number of reputable community organizations.
Mr. Vinci holds the following active licenses with the Department of Consumer Protection:
- Electrical Limited Contractor
- Fire Protection Unlimited Contractor
- Heating, Piping & Cooling Unlimited Contractor
- Piping Unlimited Contractor
“Mr. Vinci is a great example of the number of business owners we work with closely at our agency to make sure we’re always improving, and making it easy to do business in our state while protecting consumers,” said Commissioner Harris, “During Mr. Vinci’s lifetime, we have made a lot of improvements at the agency. Between 2011 and 2015 alone, our online license renewals have increased 50%, and we’re happy Mr. Vinci’s business has been able to take advantage of that process.”

Mr. Vinci and Commissioner Harris were joined by his daughter Rosemarie Vinci, Larry McHugh, the president of the Middlesex County Chamber of Commerce and Daniel T. Drew, the mayor of the City of Middletown.
