Evenflo Convertible High Chairs are Recalled Due to Fall Hazard
HARTFORD, June 6 – About 35,000 Evenflo high chairs are being recalled by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission in cooperation with Evenflo Inc., of Miamisburg, Ohio because the chair’s activity can unexpectedly detach and allow an unrestrained child to fall, the Department of Consumer Protection is reporting today.
There have been 18 reports of trays that detached, including eight reports of children who fell from the high chair and sustained bumps and bruises. The chairs, which were sold at Toys "R" Us and Walmart stores nationwide and online at Walmart.com and Wayfair.com between December 2011 and June 2012 for about $40, convert from a high chair to toddler-size table and chair.
The convertible high chair can be identified by the model names and numbers listed below. Model numbers are located on a label on the lower portion of one of the high chair's legs.
