Liquor Compliance Check in West Hartford Identifies Local Establishments that Sold to Minors
Beginning at 6:00 p.m. until midnight, eight (8) establishments were tested for compliance. The volunteer youths entered the establishments and attempted to purchase alcoholic beverages. Of the eight locations tested for compliance, three (3) allegedly failed by allegedly selling alcoholic liquor to the youths.
“The Department of Consumer Protection takes seriously its goal to reduce youth access to alcoholic liquor,” Consumer Protection Commissioner William M. Rubenstein said today. “Permittees need to take all necessary measures in their establishments to prevent the sale of alcohol to minors. Reducing youth access to alcohol helps to prevent needless tragedies.”
The Commissioner thanked the West Hartford Police Department for its participation in the compliance operation.
Those businesses that allegedly failed the compliance check may face administrative action by the Liquor Control Commission. They are:
- Fuji Restaurant , 1144 New Britain Avenue, West Hartford
- Taqueria Tavern, 140 Park Road, West Hartford
- Tokyo Sushi III , 846 Farmington Avenue, West Hartford
