Investigations Division
The Investigations Division seeks to protect the public from unfair or deceptive business practices, including fraud and scams that affect the Connecticut marketplace. The Division investigates alleged violations of the Connecticut Unfair Trade Practices Act (CUTPA). The Division covers a broad spectrum of oversight, including in the fields of Home Improvement and New Home Construction, which can cause significant financial harm to consumers.
The Consumer Complaint Center at 1-800-842-2649 processes thousands of consumer calls and complaints annually, as well as helps to mediate covered disputes between buyers and sellers.
