Attorney General's Statement On Nomination Of Judge Sotomayor To U.S. Supreme Court

"I am tremendously pleased by the President's nomination of Judge Sotomayor. In my personal experience, I have found her to be extraordinarily intelligent, fair and insightful.

"My hope is that her confirmation process will be about these very impressive qualities as a judge, rather than her views on particular issues. I will support her enthusiastically, and seek similar support from my colleagues around the country."
